Noah Homes Named 2025 Nonprofit of the Year by San Diego Business Journal
Noah Homes is thrilled to announce that it has been named 2025 Nonprofit of the Year (Large) by the San Diego Business Journal. The annual Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards program took place on Sept. 18, 2025, at Downtown San Diego’s University Club.
When Noah Homes’ name was called from the podium, our team accepted the award with great pride and joy! We did not know the news until that very moment, and it was such an honor to be recognized in a room of local leaders in philanthropy and social responsibility.
Noah Homes’ team members and supporters Kim Keane, Sam Andico, Mary O’Connor, and April Enriquez were delighted to accept the award on behalf of Noah Homes.
We’ve had a wonderful year defined by exceptional caregiving, community impact, leadership, and most importantly, happy, thriving residents at the heart of it all. Here’s a look at just a few of those milestones:
This summer, we raised funds to further improve our disaster preparedness and safety protocols for our community.
In April 2025, our staff member, Kevin, was named an ANCOR Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year award recipient from among 500 nominations. This fall, Gilda from Noah Homes was named a CDSA DSP Empowerment Award winner. This is a testament to Noah Homes’ commitment to high-quality training for the betterment of its staff and residents!
Speaking of training, we formalized our course catalogue by launching the Training Institute of Excellence with courses about person-centered care, dementia, and more. And we became an approved training provider under the Department of Social Services!
In February 2025, we were named Nonprofit of the Year by the San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce. We are so grateful to the Chamber community!
What makes this year even more special is that we can proudly say our social impact extends beyond our 11-acre community. The residents of Noah Homes benefit from the wealth of social activities and choices provided for them, and so do their peers in the community. Here are a couple of examples:
In 2024-2025, we grew our Noah’s PERCH social club to 150+ members, as part of our commitment to serving San Diego’s ~29,000 individuals with I/DD. Noah’s PERCH’s monthly activities allow adults with I/DD to foster an inclusive culture and form connections. PERCH members not only partake in social activities – they give back to the community by leading Earth Day beach cleanups and more.
In 2024, we became home to the first People First chapter in East County, enabling participants to advocate for disability rights. Participants have continued to advocate throughout 2025, by participating in a Medicaid rally and more.
These accomplishments are intended to do one thing: maintain an exceptional quality of care and choice for adults with I/DD.
We are humbled and honored to do this important work and thank the San Diego Business Journal for recognizing the Noah Homes family!
